Dreamidon

The catastrophic erruption of Gretaon thrust Azur into a sudden ice age. As a plume of vulcanic ash filled the sky hidding Azur from Realgar, the temperatures upon the planet plummetted causing severe winter conditions that were unexpected. The air grew thin. Thousands of animals that were created during Eulithraw died and thousands of plants could not survive in the harsh conditions.

There were some animals that were already use to harsh cold conditions that survived the long winter. The age of Dreamidon lasted 2.7 billion years and during this time some animals were forced into lengthy periods of hibernation while others like the Larutan thrived. It is one of the coldest periods that the world has ever known. There are no other Ages where the temperature has plummeted to such low extremes.

The ice age caused another dramatic change upon the planet. Once water had separated the continents now it was freezing ice flows, ice bergs and long stretches of solid ice that bridged the land masses allowing for the migration of those races who could survive and adapt quickly to the harsh conditions.

When the sky began to clear some 2 billion years later, the world beneath began to warm once more and the sea levels rose. It was during this period that a nearby world began to take notice of the new light in their sky and turned their attention to Azur. The Isis arrived at Azur a few hundred years later.
